Pose Matrices: Each capsule maintains a pose matrix that encodes information about the state and orientation of the features it has detected. This information helps capsules to be invariant to the position and orientation of features within the input.
Transformation Matrices: Capsules use transformation matrices to predict the output of higher-level capsules. These transformation matrices are learned during training and help capsules to agree on the presence of features in the input data.
The idea behind capsule filters and CapsNets, in general, is to capture hierarchical relationships between features and enable better generalization to variations in position, orientation, and other factors.
